Most people who saw our documentaries “Fixed City” and “125 years Diamant” came to us asking, how we managed to end up with Michael Hübner starring in both films. Well, for “Fixed City” he was just there! We went to a Keirin cup in Cottbus, eastern Germany and he was just there. As simple as that. By talking to him and listening to his interview over and over again, we somehow sympathised with this guy. I mean, he is a true legend when it comes to the sport of track cycling and what matters the most, he is just THE coolest guy out there: easy to deal, funny, down to earth and he can tell stories from his time as a pro…man, priceless!
From that moment on, we knew he is our man for the “125 years Diamant” documentary, because he started out track racing on good old Diamant track frames and won world championships on Textima.
We just want to take Kieron’s post from ridetheblackline.com as an opportunity to pay tribute to our most favourite track hero of all time – Michael Hübner.
Thanks Kieron for reminding me of him.

Critical Film – A documentary about a very special weekend of cyclo cross racing. It only took 126 km of dirt, gravel and cobblestones devided in 4 stages between Dresden and Leipzig, 80 racers, 9 hours, 35°C, 600 liters of water, a ton of food, a world cup quarterfinal and many many enthusiastic souls, to make this an unbelievable experience.
They call it “CRITICAL DIRT – A study in crossification”.
